Per Mayor bass executive order, residents might have the fees waived for permits. Currently, those residents pulling permits signing a document temporarily waiving the fees until the city council approves it. If it does not pass city council then the homeowners will be responsible to pay the permits. There has also been some questions about what rebuilds this applies to. It applies to ALL rebuilds, not just like for like |
| Do you need to post a 30 day grading notice for neighbors? |
This is not required in the palisades at this time per Building and Safety. This could be reinstated at the state level |
| When should I engage with a contractor? |
The ideal time is when your plans are ready to issue or very close. This is so that the contractors are bidding on a complete set and there won’t be changes causing change orders |
| My contractor is giving me a price per foot without seeing my plans. |
Contractors can give a range but to go into contract with someone it is recommended that you have them bid on a complete or close to complete set of plans |
| How long will plan check take? |
This will vary depending on like for like, if you had plans approved more recently, etc. We have seen one permit pulled 20 days after submittal to plan check and we have heard som people going on 3 to 4 months |
