We are installers of Fluid Applied Weather barriers on the home to seal the home for air tightness. Our strategy includes Super Insulating the home to QII Grade 1 install using chemical free fiberglass insulation. Now we have a tight envelope so we need to add Whole House Balanced Ventilation by installing an ERV and all of the related manifolds and 3″ tubes that run to each room of the home for exhaust of the bathrooms, kitchen, and laundry room and supplying fresh air to the bedrooms and living areas. 24/7
We are building science people and preach the “unvented attic assembly” as the best way to reduce openings to the building. Make sure your roofer installs foam board on the roof deck to meet code requirements for unvented attics.
