As of October 1st, we have had 258 new home permits issued since the fire.
In September, the Palisades had 79 new building permits issued and 108 applications were submitted. See Map of Permits Here.
The jump from 75 to 79 issued permits represents a 5% increase month over month. And we dropped from 122 to 108 permit applications in September, an 11% decrease.
So as of September 30th, we have had a total of 258 new home building permits issued since the fire. (Excluding permits originating pre-fire).
Mayor Bass calls this 258 number (issued new building permits) homes “Under Construction.” The city does not know how many are under construction.
The average time for permits to be issued has increased (slower) month over month from 77 in August to 89 days in September.

Let’s break them down by month. The below numbers reflect permits issued in said month, and how long they took to be issued. This is for New Building permits only, not swimming pools, demo, etc.
March – 31 days (2 permits)
April – 46 days (5 permits)
May – 56 days (24 permits)
June – 71 days (29 permits)
July – 63 days (39 permits)
August – 77 days (75 permits)
September – 89 days x (79 permits)

How many actual applications are in for rebuilding single family homes and how many home rebuild permits are issued?
In September we had ~100 applications and 79 issued. Since the fire, we’ve had 258 permits issued.
