SBA Disaster Loan Deadline Approaching
The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) is reminding homeowners, renters, businesses, and nonprofit organizations affected by the January 2025 Los Angeles wildfires to complete the final steps required to access approved disaster loan funds before the June 30, 2026 deadline.
To date, the SBA has approved nearly 13,000 disaster loan applications totaling more than $3.4 billion in assistance. However, only about $1 billion has been disbursed, meaning many approved borrowers have not yet accepted or drawn down their funds.
The agency previously extended deadlines due to rebuilding delays and permitting backlogs that slowed recovery efforts throughout Los Angeles County. Borrowers can complete the process through the MySBA Loan Portal, schedule an appointment with the SBA, or visit a local recovery center for assistance.
Eligible borrowers may also qualify for additional funding—up to 20% of verified physical disaster damage—to support mitigation improvements that help protect homes and businesses from future disasters. After June 30, any remaining undisbursed funds will generally be available only on a case-by-case basis.
Road Repairs and Closures
The Pacific Palisades Community Council has been working diligently with city officials to ensure that critical road repairs are completed before the Fourth of July. Work is scheduled to begin on June 23 and is expected to be completed prior to the July 4th holiday, helping improve safety and accessibility for residents, visitors, and community events.
Below is a list of locations included in the initial Phase 1 repair schedule.
In addition, the Council has identified several other high-priority areas requiring attention, including Via de la Paz, where the annual parade route begins, along with other heavily damaged streets throughout the community. These locations are currently being assessed, cost estimates are being prepared, and additional repairs are expected to be scheduled soon.
Residents and contractors are encouraged to be aware of upcoming work in these areas and plan accordingly, as temporary traffic impacts and road closures may occur during construction.
